Modern Pet is an e-commerce store in Australia selling pet food and accessories. They have a finger on the pulse of what’s trending in the pet accessories market and sell a variety of products online to fulfil the various needs of their customers.
What we Built
The site was built using Shopify, and we were approached with the task of optimizing and improving the site. We resized images across the site, removed the unused CSS, and trimmed the JavaScript libraries as a part of optimization. We also work on new requirements and features on the site as per client needs.
Challenges
Initially, the site loaded with large images and javascript files associated with various plugins added to the store, which slowed it down. We analyzed and trimmed some of the javascript files without breaking their functionality, and removed any plugins that weren’t in use. The images on the site also had to be optimized so that they didn’t prolong the initial loading time of the site.
Result
We successfully optimized the site to render faster and also built additional features with customized options based on the requirements and features put forward.
